SOB-RFA-12 is the latest edition of Bob Putignano's Radio Free Amsterdam radio hour (tightly edited by John Sinclair) that features in no particular order: A shortened "I'm Ready" by Humble Pie from the Fillmore East, followed by a tasteful instrumental by Sea Level, then 3 from Bobby Broom covering "Layla," Wes Montgomery's "Twisted Blues" & Smokey Robinson's "Get Ready." The legendary John McLaughlin is joined with Joey DeFrancesco & Dennis Chambers from "Live in Tokyo," and again with McLaughlin & DeFrancesco returning with the equally-legendary Elvin Jones on drums with their rendition of Mongo Santamaria's classic "Afro Blue." One more from Bobby Broom covering the Beatles "Come Together," as McLaughlin brings down the curtain for SOB-RFA-12 with his own composition "New Blues - Old Bruise." Enjoy!
